Alan Stevens, executive director for Alabama Center for Law and Civic Education spoke about the different programs designed to inform youth about being a good citizen. Over its 23 year history, the Center has provided more than $8 million in free education, materials to more than 74,000 students and teachers. The offices are located on the Samford University campus in the Cumberland School of Law.
They offer 4 programs in Jefferson County: 1. Street Law; 2. We The People; 3. Play By The Rules; 4. Teen Court. All the programs are designed to proactively engage youth not only before mistakes are made but build future leaders.
